• Miss Sheila WEINBERG, 31, and Miss Jeanette CURTIS, 27, were accused in court of contravening their banning orders on 3 February when Miss Weinberg visited the house in which Miss Curtis lived. Security police watched her enter the house and then rang the bell; the door was opened by another person who also lived in the house and whom Miss Weinberg was visiting. According to her testimony she and Miss Curtis had not seen each other, though both were in the house at the same time. The case was postponed to 13 June. * Steve BIKO, 30, honorary president of the Black People's Convention, was briefly charged on 28 March in Kingwilliamstown with contravening his banning order. The case was postponed to 26 September. Mr Biko is currently on trial charged with defeating the ends of justice and held under security police detention at Fort Glamorgan prison.
