Jan MALATJI (26) and Kerwin ZWANE (26) were sentenced to 18 months imprisonment for furthering the aims of the banned African National Congress in Johannesburg Regional Court on 20 March. They were convicted of possessing and distributing pamphlets entitled "Umkhonto we Sizwe" and of attending a meeting at Natalspruit where training freedom fighters in Mozambique was discussed. The offences were said to have taken place between December 1975 and August 1976. Pamphlets and other documents were found at their homes.
