Red Cross Refused

Report on the refusal of the Rhodesian regime to allow the International Committee of the Red Cross access to political prisoners.

The International Committee of the Red Cross is still being refused access to convicted political prisoners and persons detained under martial law in Rhodesia.

According to its latest report, several requests by the ICRC to visit these categories of prisoners have been turned down by the regime. The ICRC is only able to see and interview detainees held under the Emergency Powers Regulations, (Voice 7.10.79)
