An application for the relaxation of the banning order on Delisa CHILIZA has been turned down by the Minister of Justice.
Delisa Chiliza of Umlazi township near Durban had made the request because the banning order, which confined him to his father's house at Umlazi, made it impossible for him to stay with his wife and children at Umtwalume on the Natal South Coast, and it was impossible for him to earn a living from his taxi. He is under 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. house-arrest, and is confined to the house at weekends and public holidays. Delisa Chiliza was banned in March 1979 for five years after spending 22 months in security police detention. (see FOCUS 22 p.4. and p.6.; S. Post 7.10.79)
