The trial of the three young men and a woman on Terrorism Act charges has continued in the Durban Regional Court.
As reported in FOCUS 24, one of the accused Eric MALABA (22) was acquitted with three others on the charge of incitement. However although the other three were discharged, Malaba is still on trial for attempting to go for military training himself. (see FOCUS 24 p.3) The remaining three accused, Sithembiso Ernest NGOBESE (26), Themba Patrick NXUMALO (26) and Sibongile Albertina KUBHEKA (27) are charged with inciting others to go for military training. In addition Ngobese and Nxumalo are charged with attempting to go for military training themselves (as is Malaba).
On 1 October, judgement was provisionally reserved until 29 October. (RDM 11.9.79, 2.10.79)
