Seven young men appeared in the Durban Regional Court on 8 October on charges under the Terrorism Act. The proceedings were held in camera reportedly because three of the accused were juveniles. The seven are: Njebantu SITHOLE (21), Mandla SIBISHI (20), Ramathotlo MOSES (21), Sitembiso NZUZA (20) and THREE UNNAMED YOUTHS, one aged 17 and two aged 16.
All seven accused are facing charges of illegally attempting to incite 19 people to undergo military training outside South Africa between July 1978 and August 1979. In additon Sithole is charged with inciting four people to undergo military training between February and December 1977.
They were remanded in custody until 29 October. (Natal Mercury 9.10.79)
