Forced Landing, an anthology of short stories edited by Mothobi Mutloatse, was banned by the SA authorities in May because it included the speech made by Herman Toivo ja Toivo at his trial in 1968. The SA Publications Control Board said that the speech had no literary value of note and could only discredit the state in the eyes of the black man. It was therefore deemed undesirable under the Publications Act.
