The International Defence and Aid Fund for Southern Africa is a humanitarian organisation which has worked consistently for peaceful and constructive solutions to the problems created by racial oppression in Southern Africa.
The objects of the Fund are:- (i) to aid, defend and rehabilitate the victims of unjust legislation and oppressive and arbitrary procedures, (ii) to support their families and dependents, (iii) to keep the conscience of the world alive to the issues at stake.
Affiliated committees of IDAF exist in Australia, Britain, Canada, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and United States of America.
Associated with IDAF is a publishing company IDAF Publications Ltd. which produces FOCUS six times a year. FOCUS aims to keep international opinion informed about repression in South Africa and Namibia, in support of the call for the release of all political prisoners in those countries.
Materials may be freely quoted or reproduced provided full acknowledgement is given to IDAF Publications Ltd.
IDAF Publications also publishes pamphlets and books and produces films and photographic exhibitions on all aspects of repression and resistance in Southern Africa. A catalogue is available free of charge.
